I love good terminal performance data so I will start a post on Badlands Bulldozer-2 bullets.

I got a dandy mule deer, my first animal with the 175 BD2. The distance was about 410 yards so impact velocity was 2382 fps and energy was 2206 ft-lbs. He was quartering away and slightly down hill from my position. I shot from an improvised kneeling position off the top of my backpack. Not ideal, but he did not give me long. I ranged him at 330 near a creek and he was moving away quick. He stopped near the top of a finger before he paused to check the other side. I estimated the distance at 400, dialed my NX8 accordingly. I settled my reticle farther behind the shoulder than normal because of the angle and wind down the canyon. The shot broke clean and I watched him buckle in my scope and disappear in the sage brush. YES!!! Buck down!

My shot ended up impacting a little high…probably me but I cannot say for sure why. I hit him top of the ribs and bottom of the spine. I honestly do not recall where the bullet existed his body. It did exit the far side of his rib cage and it continued through his far side shoulder blade. The lung cavity was full of blood and there was some lung damage. I was by myself for most of this so I have limited photos. I will share what I have.

Entrance. Meat loss was not bad considering the amount of bone impacted.

Exit hole near the top of the ribs on the off side.

The hole through the off side shoulder blade I found while butchering.

One bullet fragment I found in the meat of the shoulder blade during butchering. It weighed 2.6 grains.

I think this bullet has performed adequately so far. Obviously, this is only one example and bone was impacted so I am definitely not done testing this bullet yet. I know there are others out there using Bulldozer-2 bullets, so please share your results as you get them. Thanks!

Looks like pretty good performance, and I would definitely be happy with that. I was not happy with the 110 ELDx, and I won't be using any more of those.

What cartridge are you running? What is the muzzle velocity?

I knew I forgot something. It’s a 30-06 throated about .050” long, so a 30 caliber projectile. I am running a 22” 1:10” twist Bartlein CF barrel with TBAC Ultra 7 G2. Muzzle velocity with a compressed load of H4350 is 2870.

Thanks for sharing! I might give it a try on my .30 Gibbs, 24" 1:10." I have not settled for any load, but I am propelling the 190 Berger VLD at 2806 FPS with RL-17. Just playing with powders; I already have opened.
