Saturday I decided to get out and finally give my custom rifle a chance to stretch her legs a little. The rifle is a 260. Rem on stiller tac 30, Mcmillan stock, and benchmark barrel. This is my first custom rifle and when I first got it back from the gunsmiths I couldn't get it to group better then 1.5-2". I tried everything I could and I sent it back. After a full once over, my gunsmiths sent it back reviling my stupid a** mixed up my broken rings (perfectly fine by looking at them) with my good ones in the excitement of recieving the new rifle. Well once I switched the rings back out and got load development done I Sighted her in at 100 yards. 4 months go by and finally got time to shoot it at 460 yards and 615 yards. With no crony, and never firing the rifle beyond 100 yards I estimated the velocity of the 140 Amax behind 42gr's of H-4350 at 2800 fps. Doped the scope, with fairly light wind 3-4mph it was perfect. First shot rang the gong but a few inches high. Let off a couple more and they all landed high. Recalibrated the dope, and went for 600 yards. Was ringing the large gong with ease. The last 3 rounds I saved for a 3 shot group and all 3 rounds landed 1.25"-1.5" apart!!

Calipers died so sorry about measuring tape!

Thanks gentleman. Can't wait to try the Bergers at that range. They shot better then the Amax at 100 yards

Nice.

I could never get above 272x fps, no matter, what with my 260.

I am jealous.

Shoots Great, it's just slow.

Nice ce looking rifle. After recalibrate the ballistics app spit out 2847 fps if I recall and that was pretty close, still a little off so I figured between that and 2860. I'm expecting the Bergers to be a touch quicker.

how is the accubond LR working? I really want to try the hornady eld-x

The bullets pictured shoot wonderfully on paper.

I plan to try them out on the this season on stuff with fur.

I just wish I could match your velocity.
