I'm just trying to finalise a custom reamer order for the 300 Norma Mag, to shoot the 245gr Berger Long Range Hybrid Target and wondering what the freebore should be?
It will have a .3092 Throat and straight 0.3430 Neck
This is going to wear a 34" Bartlein 400MODBB barrel as an almost dedicated 1 mile gun
Thanks in advance for your help!

I am not sure what the Freebore is actually. I had my Smith set the throat up from dummy rounds I provided. He never shared with me how much more he had to cut...sorry I'm not more help.

I think Alex wheeler’s 300NMI has .225 of freebore and was originally designed to run the 230 Hybrids. I added .050” additional to mine and can run both the 230 and 245 LRHT and feed from a CFE-12 Wyatt’s box.

Thanks, the 300NMI 35AW reamer is 0.2750 so I think you must be at 0.3250 ?

Actually you are correct on Alex’s freebore. I only added .025. I knew .050 didn’t sound right when I posted that.

Cool, so I assume the bearing surface of the 245gr LRHT sits just above the neck shoulder junction avoiding the donut with a small amount of jump?
What's your COAL with the 245gr LRHT & 230gr Hybrid and how much are you jumping them?
Thanks!

Yes. Both sit above the N/S at my freebore.

230 Hybrid @ 3.711

245 LRHT @ 3.800

Both are touching lands at that length.
