30 cal build options/ideas

Looking for ideas or thoughts on possible 30 cal build. Action will be a remmy mag bolt face.

Cross posted but looking for options and opinions.

Want to run a 215-230 gr bullet. 24" tube and used on game out to 1200 yds

Thinking 300 prc. Others have mentioned 30 noz and 30 sherman.

Prc has the option of factory ammo.

If decent factory ammo is a consideration then PRC in my opinion. I’m not enamored but them because on a custom rig you can do anything the PRC can and then some.

If factory ammo is not a concern, the I would say either a long throated 300 Win Mag with an 8 twist barrel or the same in a 30 Nosler for a small bump in performance.

You'll get more performance out of a 30 Nosler, 30 Sherman, 300 Norma/Norma Improved, etc. But for factory ammo, like you mentioned, and brass cost of those others, 300 PRC or 300 Win gets my vote.

What you're asking for is the 300 win mag. Don't complicate it. It will do what you need with a 215 and a 9 or 10 twist barrel. And it will get 2 or 3 times the barrel life of a 30 nosler

Could always +p the throat on whatever you choose for a little bump in performance.

300 prc or 300 win mag are my votes

If you don't reload then go 300 PRC.....If you reload go with the 30 Nosler. Huge fan of the 30N.

I'd vote for the 300 win mag with a 9 twist. But I'm partial to the old girl, been shooting one for almost 20yrs
